We are casting for a variety of roles across all experience levels.

Lead Performers / Principal Cast

Featured roles with speaking lines and solo or featured musical numbers. Strong acting and vocal ability required.

Supporting Cast

Supporting characters who drive key scenes. Acting experience and comfort on stage preferred.

Ensemble

Mob scenes, congregation, and choir. Open to all ages and experience levels — enthusiasm welcome!

Choir / Vocal Ensemble

Singers who will perform as part of the full score. Sight-reading ability a plus.

A devout minister and father driven by conscience and faith. Torn between protecting his family and defending religious liberty, he becomes a central voice in the struggle for freedom. His convictions set the family on a journey that will change their lives forever.

Hannah

Hannah

♪ Singing

John's devoted wife and the emotional heart of the family. Loves fiercely and endures quietly as persecution strains her home, health, and hope. She carries both grief and strength as she fights to keep her family whole.

Hiram

Hiram

♪ Singing

A printer with a skeptical wit and a sharp mind. Attempts to stay neutral but is drawn into the conflict through friendship and conscience. His printing press becomes a weapon against tyranny.

Sam

Sam

♪ Singing

A loyal friend to John and an Independent who believes in the same cause. Practical, outspoken, and courageous, Sam pushes the movement forward when others hesitate. Fear does not silence him, even in the face of danger.

Bishop Laud

Bishop Laud

The Bishop of London and powerful defender of religious uniformity. Brilliant, calculating, and utterly convinced of his divine mandate. His pursuit of control sets him in direct opposition to John and the Independents.

Tomlinson

Tomlinson

A determined enforcer working under Bishop Laud's authority. Sees dissenters as traitors and actively hunts those who defy the Church. Ruthless in his duty, he embodies the weight of state power.

Elise

Elise

The lovely household Maid. She will serve the Lothropp family through thick and thin, even if that means turning down callers.

Thomas

Thomas

Steady, thoughtful, and loyal — Thomas strives to protect his family in moments of chaos. His courage grows as the world around him becomes darker and more uncertain.

Jane

Jane

♪ Singing

Bright, bold, and unafraid to speak her mind. Jane possesses both tenderness and fire, and her voice is one of the few that challenges fear with hope.

Johnny

Johnny

Intelligent and conflicted, torn between loyalty to his father and obedience to king and country. His departure wounds the family and reflects the division sweeping England.

Barbara

Barbara

Gentle and attentive, Barbara helps care for her younger siblings. Her compassion reveals the cost children bear in times of persecution.

Samuel

Samuel

Curious, sharp, and outspoken, Samuel wrestles to make sense of courage, authority, and fear. Sees the adult world more boldly than adults expect.

Anne

Anne

♪ Singing

John and Hannah's deceased daughter who appears as an angelic narrator. Pure, compassionate, and full of wonder, she watches over her family from beyond the veil. Her presence brings tenderness, perspective, and hope.

Joseph

Joseph

Sweet-natured and eager to please. Learns about sacrifice and bravery not from stories, but from watching his family suffer for their beliefs.

Benjamin

Benjamin

The youngest boy, full of innocence and warmth. Represents what must be protected as the world around the family closes in.

Audition Requirements

  • Essential: A short reading from any script or a few lines of dramatic monologue.
  • Optional: 1-minute of song for singing-role consideration.

How to Audition

Prepare Your Video

Record a short video audition (2–3 minutes). Include a brief introduction, a monologue or dramatic reading, and a vocal selection if auditioning for a singing role.

Fill out the digital audition form below with your contact information, the role(s) you are interested in, and a link to your audition video.

Await Callback

Our casting team will review all submissions and reach out to selected candidates for callbacks and final casting decisions.
